It was estalished, subject to
presidential decree 29/1993 and was affiliated to NHBRC
1994. 
It assumes all inspection, control and monitoring of all
administrative entities of planning and organisation in the
local units all over the country, through:-
- Executive inspection of all
building and structural works for the verification of their
compliance with code condition and licenses of the
competent administrative authorities, subject to all
regulation building laws and decrees.
- Recommending the competent
administrative authority for taking relevant measures of
work cease, remedy or removal in suspension of license violation.
- Preparation of periodical
reports of inspection, control and monitoring work
conclusion for their reference to the competent authorities.
- Consideration of collapsible
buildings and constructions and taking relevant measures.
- Settlement of disputes
between the local units and owners of villas and palaces,
which demolition is prohibited.
- Preparation of technical and
legal training courses for upgrading the performance of
planning, Organisation and legal staff in the local units
and their senior officials.
- Inspection of the competent
administrative authorities, for building licensing,
construction works , extension, consolidation, demolition or
any internal finishing and verification of any legal actions
for insite violation.
- Examination of people’s claims,
all over country, for any technical defects or violation
of building laws. Responding to all building law
queries of all planning and organisation competent
administrative authorities in the local units.
- Provision of know- how to the
legal and administrative authorities (courts, public
prosecution- administrative parquet - Housing directorates
………).
- Review of multi- purpose facilities, like garages
– stores –cinemas – entertainment places and theatres before
licensing for the safety and security of their occupants,
assisted by experts of architectural and structural works,
fire prevention and fighting systems and the
electromechanical installation works………..etc.
For provision of appropriate services for people, all over
the country for timely completion of works and in compliance
with the state decentralization policy. BTIA opened
administrative offices ( branches) in some ( Alexandria – Port
said – Fayoum – Aswan) governorates and two ( Red Sea –
dakahliya) are underway. Real estate applications can be
submitted through the internet.
