Presidential decree 424 / 1977 was issued for the formation of DRSOF including an information and decision taking support center, responsible for providing senior officials in all ministry organs with relevant information and statistics for performance development and taking decisions in scientific way.

IC tasks are briefed as follow:-

• Counting detailed plans.
• Executive programs of projects for monitoring their implementations.
• Preparation of periodical reports and statistics.
• Review of all development project research and studies.
• Dissemination and provision of all available digital and non digital information (internet pages – brochures – bulletins ….etc).
• Preparation of the information system tender documents according to the bulk of work of each authority.

IC includes technical staff for working with the project managers, analysts, information system designers and programmers.

It is equipped with the latest technological equipment like servers, pC’s, printers, scanners, display units and insertion units,,,,,,,,,,,,, etc.

It includes relational database, GIS systems, Autocad programs, local area networks(LAN) connecting all departments and  Micro film unit.
